Crown Point, Indiana
The Pangere Corporation was the General Contractor for the renovation of the Lake County Indiana Sheriff’s Simulator Training Room in Crown Point, Indiana. The project created a much-needed simulator training and classroom setting for law enforcement professionals to advance their skills.
Lake County Indiana Sheriff’s Department now has a new training tool designed to enhance officer’s de-escalation skills. Pangere worked collaboratively with the Lake County Board of Commissioners, DLZ, and the Sheriff’s Department Staff to complete the renovation of their new Simulator Police Training Room. The simulator-based training allows instructors to manipulate a scenario in real time, introducing a dynamic feature that is not often present in standard police training. The five-screen Use-of-Force Simulator Room is the first of its kind in the community. It will be used to train law enforcement professionals from across the region.
Scope of Work included modifications of approximately 1,250 square feet of office space and file storage area into an indoor simulator room. Work involves the demolition of drywall and concrete
block walls, flooring, ceilings, and electrical and mechanical items. New work includes the construction of acoustic gypsum partition walls, flooring, ceiling replacement and installation of ceiling and wall acoustic panels, electrical power and lighting, and mechanical modifications and installation of room accessories.
