Boeing Hangar at Gary/Chicago International Airport

The Pangere Corporation was contracted to perform the structural design and construction of a 200’ clear span aircraft hangar capable of securing two 727 commercial aircrafts. The design included all foundation and structural steel work and was complicated by the inclusion of a 150’ wide x 50’ high braced arm canopy hangar door weighing in excess of 50 tons. The facility also included two two-story offices on the north and east walls of the hangar and the duplication of the complete hangar structure adjacent to the east sidewall. Pangere incorporated a hybrid pre-engineered structure from Butler Heavy Structures as part of its construction solution and completed all site construction services with its direct-hired trained craftsmen without a single safety incident.
