St. Mary Medical Center CT Scanner Building Addition

Hobart, Indiana
The Pangere Corporation was the General Contractor for the 1,600 square foot, CT Scanner Addition at the St. Mary Medical Center located in Hobart, Indiana. The addition is located on the south side of the main hospital building, with parking lots to the east and west of the new hospital building addition. Currently, the hospital utilizes one other CT Scanner. The addition of a new scanner means that when routine and emergency downtimes affect the functionality of one scanner, patients will not have to be transferred to another hospital to receive their testing and treatment. When treating patients, every minute counts in determining the expected extent of patients’ recovery. The new CT Scanner will enable the staff of St. Mary Medical Center to treat patients more accurately and quickly.
With ever ever-increasing need for patient services, CFNI and the Administrators at St. Mary Medical Center voted to pursue a CT Scanner building addition. Once the hospital issued the purchase order for the Somatom Force Dual Source CT Scanner, a Siemens model, Pangere was contracted to proceed with the project. The project scope of work consisted of a 1-story brick building addition along with complex MEPFP coordination, mechanical, electrical, and structural requirements such as lead-lined walls, floors and ceilings, and large x-ray glass control windows, In addition, the building has a sprinkler system, medical gas systems, and automatic door closure in the Gantry Room.
Pangere’s project management team worked closely with the architects, trade partners, and hospital facility operations director to minimize disruptions and complete this project on time and within budget.
