In continuing a strong relationship with Tradebe Treatment and Recycling, The Pangere Corporation was called upon to execute a design-build solution for Tradebe’s new Solid Distillation System (SDS) in Hammond, Indiana. The project, which doubled the facilities waste recycling capacity, was planned to allow for facility operations to continue without disruption. This meant that all construction had to be carried out in close proximity to toxic, combustible, and other harmful waste products requiring detailed planning and execution of special safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of everyone in the area.
The overall scope of work called upon Pangere to create a design-build solution surrounding the installation of the new SDS hazardous waste recycling system. Working closely with Tradebe, Pangere developed a plan for a new multi-unit building and tank farms to fit within a tight footprint surrounded by active processing operations. While given a tight space to build, the new facility was designed with construction in mind so that equipment installation and building erection could take place in tandem and not be hampered by a restrictive work area. To complete construction, Pangere called upon in-house service divisions to perform the structural, metal roofing and siding, carpentry, and painting aspects of the project. In addition, Pangere selected its subcontractor partners based on their ability to perform industrial work in such a complex setting. The entire team displayed great strength in collaboration, leading to an incident free project finish.
